If you're planning a renovation, bring a plumber in early. Moving a drain is a line on a drawing at the design stage and a demolition job once the floor is down. The half-hour conversation before anything is ordered routinely saves more than it costs.

We work alongside general contractors, cabinet installers and tile setters regularly, and we're used to fitting into someone else's schedule. We'd rather be the trade that turns up when it said it would than the one holding up the whole job.

The cheapest time to change your mind is on paper

Every decision gets more expensive as the job progresses. A drain relocated at the drawing stage costs a conversation; the same change after the slab or subfloor is in costs real money and real time.

How we work with your build

One less trade to chase

On a renovation you're already coordinating several trades. We try hard not to be the one that needs chasing — you'll know when we're coming, what we need ready, and what has to happen before we can move to the next stage.

Where we're working under a general contractor we deal with them directly on scheduling, so you're not relaying messages between two trades.

Common questions

Before you book

Do you supply the fixtures, or do I?

Either. Plenty of people choose their own taps, sinks and toilets and we install them; others would rather we supply everything. If you're buying your own it's worth checking with us first that what you've picked will actually fit the space and the existing rough-in.

Can you work with my general contractor?

Yes, and it usually goes better that way. We'll coordinate scheduling with them directly rather than through you, and fit around framing, tile and cabinets so nothing gets installed twice.

Do you handle permits and inspections?

Permit and inspection responsibility varies with the job and who's acting as the general contractor. Exactly what we handle is [CONFIRM SCOPE] — we'll make it clear in writing before the job starts so there's no gap.

How far ahead should I book?

For planned renovation work, as early as you can — ideally as soon as you have a design. Call and we'll tell you honestly what the current lead time looks like.
