A tank that's leaking is already finished

Once the inner tank goes, there's no repair — and a failed tank empties its full contents onto the floor. If you can see water at the base, shut off the supply and the power to it and call.

Sizing

Bigger isn't automatically better

Recovery rate matters as much as capacity. A well-matched tank keeps up with your actual morning routine; an oversized one heats water nobody uses and puts the cost on your power bill twelve months a year.

Tell us how many people are in the house, when everyone showers, and whether the laundry and dishwasher run at the same time. That's genuinely all we need to size it properly.

Common questions

Before you book

How long should a water heater last?

Around eight to twelve years is typical, though water quality and whether the anode rod was ever replaced make a big difference. Past that, a failure is a question of when rather than if — which is a good reason to replace on your schedule instead of its own.

Tank or tankless?

Tankless makes sense for some households and is an expensive answer for others. It depends on your hot water demand, your electrical or fuel supply and what's already installed. We'll give you the honest comparison for your house rather than a general recommendation.

There's no hot water at all. Is the tank dead?

Not necessarily. On an electric tank a failed element or thermostat produces exactly the same symptom and is a far smaller job. That's the first thing we check — we're not going to quote you a replacement before finding out.

Can you replace it the same day?

Often, depending on the day and what's on the van. Call and we'll give you a straight answer on timing rather than a vague promise — and if you're without hot water we'll tell you where you sit in the queue.
